The Sovereign Grand Inspector General and Deputy of the Supreme Council are both the Executive Officer of an Orient; both are the ranking Scottish Rite Mason within an Orient and there is only one within the Orient at a time. The Sovereign Grand Inspector General is an Active Member of the Supreme Council.
The Orient of Alabama has had 11 men elevated to Deputy of the Supreme Council, and 9 of which became Sovereign Grand Inspector Generals not including 2 men that skipped Deputy straight to SGIG, and one become Grand Commander of the Supreme Council. Our current Deputy was elevated to the rank on January 1st, 2022.
